ChameleonUltra
A keyring-sized LF/HF card emulator with a reader built in, driven from a phone app.
The ChameleonUltra comes from the same RFID Research Group behind the Proxmark3 firmware, and is the successor to the earlier Chameleon Mini and Tiny. It's the size of a car-key fob, runs on a small rechargeable battery, and talks to a phone or computer over Bluetooth or USB.
#What it's for
- Emulation first. Its main job is acting as a card: it can hold several card "slots" and present them to a reader. That's useful for testing your own readers and systems without a stack of physical cards.
- A reader too. It can read common LF ID tags (EM4100 family) and ISO 14443-A HF cards, and identify what they are.
- App-driven. A companion app (ChameleonUltraGUI) and a command-line client handle setup.
#Where it fits
It's less of a lab instrument than a Proxmark3 and more specialised than a Flipper Zero: a small, battery-powered card that you can reprogram.
